Wayne Winter Hiking Challenge
January 20th - March 15h 2025

The challenge is a way to promote health, movement, and enjoying the outdoors in our community during a time of year that can be challenging for many. Hike 6 of 8 parks in the area to complete the challenge.

Holiday Bazaar
In Our Main Market & Our New Space Across the Street

This year's Bazaar included an expanded Meet the Makers vendor footprint, taking place both in our current market and our new space across the street. We enjoyed live music, a coffee station with Boo Bears Brew, a visit from Santa Claus, specialty food and more...

We hosted a Meet the Makers Series where several producers set up in the market to meet with customers, offer some samples, and share more about what they do.
Window Wonderland

Our shelves were stocked with holiday items for sale in the market, we hosted free cookie decorating for kids, and we enjoyed a special dinner service with The Pierogi People.
Annual Co-op Meeting

This was a time for interested cooperative members to get together, spend some time hearing about the year in review, and discuss the year ahead.
Women's Healthy & Hormone Balance Workshop
Tuesday Oct. 22nd, 6pm​ - 8pm

Facilitators Lori Bryant and Kristen Smith offered encouragement and practical knowledge on women's health and hormone balance participants could take home and apply to their regular routines. There were hands on experiences as well as a few items to take home.
Clothing Swap
August 10th, 10am​ - 1pm

We enjoyed this fun event in benefit of the Local Roots & FoodSphere Campaign for a New Building to Call Home. Participants brought in used clothes they no longer need see new life with others and found some quality, used items to help refresh their wardrobe.
Member Appreciation Party

This was a special event to say thank you to our co-op members & community - all were welcome! We enjoyed live music, specialty booths, demonstrations, and samples.
Field to Fork Fundraiser Dinner

Local Roots and FoodSphere hosted a dinner as part of the. Campaign for a New Building to Call Home. The event provided local food, wine & homemade ginger-ale freshly prepared by a variety of local chefs overlooking breathtaking views at Summerhill Farm.

Acid & Honey Oxymel Workshop
Sun. June 2nd

We captured the seasons with oxymels (vinegar, honey, herbs and fruit).
We learned about the history, how to make them and how to use them in your everyday lives during this 1.5 hour workshop.
Electric Car Drive-In
Sat. May 4th

We celebrated Earth Day with a variety of electric vehicles in the south parking lot, along Walnut St., and on South St.
We had specialty booths, activities for kids and more!

We saw a 37% increase in vehicles at the event from the year before with 55 vehicles on display!
Beginning Herbs with Susan Sivey

This was a workshop where we delved into the fascinating world of herbs as we learned to cultivate and utilize eight common culinary herbs, along with a selection of lesser-known varieties, to enhance culinary dishes and promote well-being.
Tamale Workshop

This was a hands-on class with Joy Irias in our commercial kitchen exploring the history and variety of tamales. We learned the step-by-step cooking process for traditional Honduran banana leaf tamales.
Wayne Winter Hiking Challenge Group Hike

Participants enjoyed some light refreshments at the Barnes Preserve Pavilion provided by the Local Roots Kitchen, then enjoy a leisurely hike together to commemorate the challenge.
Capital Campaign Launch Party
